About

Valerie Driscoll works with digital media, sculpture and performance to devise strategies for the interlacing of visual culture and political philosophy. Her current research-based practice examines the relationship between the human body and the technological. Driscoll uses popular culture, online environments and contemporary philosophy to explore machinic elements of the human body and juxtaposes this with human elements of machines. Playing with our reliance on technology as well as our desire to use technology to make order out of chaos, Driscoll deconstructs the relationship and examines the socio-political as well as the personal.

Her work is regularly exhibited internationally and supported by the Arts Council. Driscoll studied Contemporary Photography, Practices and Philosophies at Central Saint Martins College of Art, London where she was awarded an MA.
